Here’s an article discussing reasons why your home might not be selling. At least half of the reasons given should be obvious, but if you’re not actively thinking about them, then you might lose the forest for the trees. In short, make sure that the condition of the home is presentable, the home is being properly marketed, and the asking price isn’t too high. *sigh* All that being said, temporarily removing the listing isn’t bad advice. If a home is sitting for too long, perhaps prospective buyers will assume something’s wrong with it.
